This body of work is both a memorial, and the beginning of an exploration of myself and my grandmother Norma’s lives. Telling a story through the practice of cataloging memories and deconstructing them, simplifying images of significance to singular colors and shapes to better understand the complexities and nuances of the ways our lives are permanently woven together.

Each piece is searching for a rhythm, a balance of reckoning with the grief of losing my grandmother, and celebrating the joy of our shared memories - a physical act that allows for the materialization of a relationship that now exists beyond the physical realm.
